Executive Assistant

The Film Society seeks a talented, organized and self-directed individual to provide comprehensive administrative and project support to the executive director.

Responsibilities
Duties include maintaining calendars, setting meetings, arranging travel and accommodation, expense reporting and general correspondence; maintaining files, contact databases and mailing lists; administrative support to the SFFS board of directors; special event planning, protocol and execution; acting as a liaison for the executive director to the world outside SFFS, including consulates, corporate sponsors, foundations, prospects, major donors and filmmakers. There will also be opportunities to attend screenings and events as well as board and senior staff meetings, and offsite meetings with key stakeholders, and to support various SFFS departments as needed (research, copywriting and participating in strategy brainstorms). Opportunities to expand the role are inherent in the growth of the organization

Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar position is essential, preferably in an arts-related environment. Proficiency in MS Entourage and Excel and FileMaker Pro, including merge mail and database experience are preferred. Superior written and verbal communication skills are mandatory. Must be organized and detail-oriented and able to follow through on multiple projects with minimal supervision. This position demands attention to detail, significant diplomacy skills and consummate professionalism. Must work well under deadline pressure.

Full-time, permanent position.
